"They [referring to the congregation Berseba] want H. Plaatje to become their Evangelist. He is already serving in the congregation since many years with vigour and a committed heart. He has competence and knows the Bible. All, that is required from an Evangelist, is given to him. He is 44 years old.
What may I do to satisfy the wish of the people? Will there be a support course which the man can participate in? Or shall I consecrate the man, like it happened in other cases?
The man works as a painter with earns him a good income. Would he get enough as an Evangelist, so that he and his family can live of it."1

In 1944 the following Chiefevangelists were mentioned in K'hoop: Johannes Dausab (jun.) and Zachäus Thomas, together with the Evangelists: Heinrich Plaatjie, Johannes Josob and Thomas Windstaan.2

In February 1838, Fenchel nominates Eduard Jas from the Bondelswarts and Abram [sic] Petrus Platje [sic] from the "Platjes-Stam" as elder in the congregatin Keetmanshoop.3
Mentioned as "Namaältester" in protocol of "Ältestensitzung" during the Conference of RMS missionaries at Gibeon 14.- 21.6.1914,


[Concerning the Plaatjie family: Magdalena Isaak née Plaatjie mentioned in her interview with HMM in Keetmanshoop on the 10.04.2007, that probably Mr. Elias Plaatjie from the Farm Olivia Tel. 260187 would know something about Paulus Plaatjie]

Otto Milk notierte 1949 in seinem Tagebuch:
"Als Text las ich in den Häusern Joh. 10 und 14 und Luk. 9,51 ff. Neu war mir das Haus der Forbes, Bruder der alten Frau Krabbenhöft, die jetzt gestorben ist. Sie war 83, Forbes ist 75 und fühlt sich schwach. Er war wohl ein treues Gemeindeglied. Willi Kisting, der Evangelist, hält jeden Sonntag in dem Haus der Frieda Plaatjie Gottesdienst für die Alten und Kranken. Was er predigt, würde ich gern mal erfahren. - Gestern ging ich mit dem Ältesten Jonas Goliath über die Nama-Werft. Fast bei allen war ich zum zweiten Mal. Ich war längst nicht mehr so fremd wie beim ersten Mal. Bei der Frau des Jakobus van der Westhuisen nahm ich Kol. 3. Sie gehört zu denen, die auf der "Eiland" waren, das heißt auf der Haifischinsel."
