Came from Gibeon when he was admitted in the "seventh course" at the Augustineum in Okahandja which started on the 26.01.1942. He was one of the first 53 "Evangelistenschüler" who were admitted, who ended up in the Augustineum, because the Paulinum was closed down, as Pönnighaus was interned in Andalusia, South Africa. Left the Augustineum on the 07.12.1942 to start his work in the district Gibeon. "Johannes Kalf sollte die Arbeit am Nosob, die neu begonnen werden sollte, tun. Jedoch nahm ihn der Herr unerwartet hinweg, wohl an Herzschlag. So blieb der Nosob aufs erste unbesetzt. Gottes Wege sind heilig und unerforschlich."1
