Richter (Rechter) (sen.), Traugott * ?, ? † . Traugott Richter (sen.), was send by the RMS to the teacher seminary in Gnadenthal (SA) of the Moravian Mission Society and was destinated for Windhoek as teacher and translator in 1872. This provoked the protest of his people amongst the Zwartboois who did not want one of them to be send amongst the Afrikaners. In spite of this he was stationed in Winhoek.1 According to Vedder the Hereros murdered the RMS teacher Traugott Richter (sen.) in Windhoek in 1880.2 After Johannes Schröder was stationed in Klein-Windhoek in March 1871 he had the "Schulmeister" Traugott Rechter [sic] together with Moses as his helpers.3 Married: Children: Education: Other family members connected to RMG: In May 1883 Baumann starts with the mission work amongst the Bergdamara in Otjimbingwe, 200-300 of them attend the service in the church. Baumann uses Samuel Gertse as his translator for the time being, until his actual translator Jonas Richter arrives.4 Jonas Richter (Nama), born 1909 from Maltahöhe, attended the full teachers "fourth course" at the teacherstraining seminary Augustineum in Okahandja from 30.01.1933 till 06.12.1935 and was appointed as a teacher from 03.02.1936 in Mariental.5 Traugott Richter signed the Proclamatie as member of the "raad" of Cornelius Zwartboy which specified the area in which they lived.6 Ein Grabstein auf dem Friedhof in Mariental erinnert an Christof Clementinus //Otakab Richter (geb. 01.06.1937, gest. 07.12.2007).
