Heidmann must have reported the provisional opening of a branchstation in the "Außenfeld" of Rehoboth in 1900. The JBRM mentions it with only two sentences: "Im Außenfeld wurde eine Schule angelegt, so daß eine Art Filiale entstanden ist. Die Arbeit dort wurde einem Aeltesten, Johannes van Wyk, anvertraut; doch ist vorläufig alles nur erst provisorisch."1 Was working in Khoësarebis until 1903 when he himself moved to a "entfernt liegenden Platz" and he probably stopped the work.2
Died in Slip during 1912 after his faithful work in Slip, "[...] in the middle of Bastardland".3

Auf dem Friedhof in Rehoboth sind unzählige Gräber der Familie van Wyk zu finden, u. A. Sophia Olivier, geb. van Wyk (12.10.1887-20.08.1964).
Ein, den Deutschen "treu gebliebener" Teil der RMS Gemeinde Rehoboth bekennt in einem Schreiben vom 06.12.1927 seine Mitschuld an dem Konflikt mit der RMS und bittet Missionar Blecher und RMS um Verzeihung. unter 17 Unterschriften Gert van Wyk.4
