Butkus, Philippus * ?, ? † . The Church Board of the ELK responds on a request by congregation leader pastor Gohlke (Okahandja??) and explains that Butkus is dismissed by the Church and that he is not doing any congregational service and that he is put on stand-by (provisional retirement without any pay). The Board confirms again that Butkus is dismissed and that he is "[...] no longer an Evangelist within the Church." Gohlke is asked to hold talks with Butkus to discuss the situation of his broken marriage and his future plans. Gohlke is requested to report back to the Board. In spite of his situation, Butkus is doing the congregation work amongst the men in the congregation, as this task was given to him by the Church Board. Butkus is required again to get his marriage affairs in order till March 1975.2 From a note in the minutes of the ELK Church Board meeting on 28./29.04.1976, it can be understood that Butkus had been previous dismissed from the service as an Evangelist within the ELK. He now informs the Church Board that he did as he was requested by the Board to contact his wife so that he could "[...] bring his marriage matters in order". According to his information he was however not successful, as his wife did not react on repeated warnings by a court. The matter is therefore not solved, according to the Church Board. In spite of this fact, Brutus applies to be re-admitted as an Evangelist. The Board decides the circuit Otjiwarongo (the chairperson and his secretary) contact Butkus, draft a report with a possible proposal for the Church Board.3 Auf der 7.
