Attended the refreshment course 1973 at Paulinum form 25.02. - 24.05.1973. He came from Keetmanshoop.1 

During its meeting of 29.01.1975, the ELK Church Board is informed by member of the congregation Mariental that the accommodation of a sister Juliane Naruses creates a problem in the congregation. Church Board therefore requests the "UK-VELKSWA" to agree to the request of Evangelist Petrus Mateus and re-locate him [seemingly from Keetmanshoop] to the North where he could get a post. This would then allow the Church Board to re-locate Evangelist Hamuntenja to Keetmanshoop.2

In its meeting of 04./05.02.1976 the ELK Church Board had a request tabled by a certain Mr. K. Syrja, who requested that Evangelist Mateus be transferred to the congregation Tsumeb as a Driehoek Evangelist. The Church Board refers the request to the "UK-VELKSWA". In another meeting of 28./29.04.1976, it is noted, that Mateus seemingly worked as a Driehoek Evangelis until January 1976, before he left the service without informing the church or sending any message until April 1976, the Church Board accepts his way of leafing as his resignation.
