Jahanika (Johanika), Erastus * ?, ? † . Was baptized by Bernsmann in the year 1894 or 1895 in Omburo. Bernsmann wanted to send him to Otjimbingwe to the Augustineum, but his parents did not agree. Later Bernsmann lost the contact with him. When Bernsmann came to Karibib in 1905 he encoutered Erastus Jahanika in the POW camp. He was released by the authorities under the "Mission agreement" which allowed Teachers and Evangelists to leave the camps if requested by the RMS. Jahanika was supposed to teach at the mission School in Karibib, but his health did not allow it, as he was permanently sick of scurvy. When the home for orphans was opened in Otjimbingwe in 1906, Erastus Jahanika was send there. He arrived there weak and with swollen limbs.
