AELCRN VIII 2.3b:129, "Destitute without cattle and prevented from raiding their neighbours, the Topnaar chief, Jan /Unuweb, brought an evangelist from the Rhenisch Mission in Fransfontein, Nicodemus Kido, to teach his people how to irrigate wheat, maize and other crops form the strong springs in the area. In 1941 Nicodemus [sic] son, Benjamin, became chief of Sesfontein, but when he died six years later [1947] the leadership reverted to the original Topnaar patriline with the appointment of Simon //Havachab. Under him were four Nama headmen, of whom was resident at the nearby settlement of Warmquelle.
