On the 5th May 1910 David Bezuidenhout, together with Jan Maasdorp, was choosen as elders of the congregation Rietfontein. Tötemeyer praised this elder/evangelist in the century celebration of the congregation Rietfontein.1

Lind schreibt 1928 im BRMG: "Da steht auf dem Filial Bokspütz der Aelteste Bezuidenhout. Er unterrichtete die Kinder, hielt Tauf- und Konfirmandenunterricht und beaufsichtigte die freiwillige Gemeindearbeit bei den Vorbereitungen zum Kirchbau, wie dem Formen der Backsteine, dem Anfahren der Klippen usw. Als er mich kürzlich besuchte, meinte er, es würde ihm doch manches Mal schwer, angesichts der äußeren Arbeit mit dem Apostel zu sagen: "In allen Dingen beweisen wir uns als Diener Gottes in großer Geduld." Doch ging er mutig und fröhlich wieder zurück, als ich ihm sagte, daß der Maurer schon auf dem Wege nach Bokspütz sei, um mit dem Bau der Kirche zu beginnen."2

As it is ducumented for Jan Maasdorp (20/- per month in 1936) that he received an remuneration for his work, it can be assumed that David Bezuidenhout also received a nominal amount for his work. ELCRN VIII2.3 n.N.,

Pabst, while stationed in Warmbad, visited Kaunas (near the Bak Revier) in August 1883. Here the "Grootfontein" people had settled. Together with Cornellius Jansen, Jakobus Bezuidenhout was responsible for the congregation. During their encounter in Kaunas, the two of them reported to Pabst about the progress of the work. Pabst promoted Jansen to be the temporary school teacher and requested them also to also take care of the Namaquas in the surrounding. The "Häuptling" Klaas Zwarts handed over an amount of £ 12,10 from the returns of the "Gemeindeherde".3
Willy Bezuidenhout attended the so called "second course" for teachers and Evangelists of Vedder at the Augustineum from 16.07.1926 (its actual commencing date) till the end of the teachers course on the 21.06.1929 and was send as a teacher to Keetmanshoop.4
