Was discharged ("geskors") on the 31.10.1968.1 Applied for Paulinum in 1964 Johannes Frederick worked under chief evangelist Ernst Kaffer, who was stationed in Warmbad, from September 1957 till the death of Ernst Kaffer in July 1963. Johannes Frederick studied in Paulinum from 1955-56 without passing his (deacon) examination. He was send by the church board to Warmbad and worked as a wandering evangelist from the Hamrivier and Ariamsvlei to Noordoewer. After the death of Ernst Kaffer, Johannes Frederick took over the work. In his application letter for the Paulinum, dated July 1964, he complains about the alcohol abuse of his co-workers, which he mention as the teachers and elders.2 Bei seiner Anstellung als Evangelist am Hammrevier gibt es Probleme. Diese zeigen sich in einem (nicht vorliegenden) Brief von O. Milk und zwei (nicht vorliegenden) Briefen des Evangelisten.3 Als Evangelist in Warmbad schreibt der Haupfevangelist Johannes Frederik [sic! eigentlich Frederick] 1958 in seinem Jahresbericht von 35 Personen, denen er auf den "buiteplaase" Unterricht gibt, d.h. Lesen und Schreiben beibringt. "Die Godsdienste hou ons in die kerk en die Bybeluur Woensdag in die Lokasie se kerkhuisie. He was from Bethanie and born 1919. He attended 6 years school in Bethanie. He probably did not work for a white employer before coming to the Augustineum. He was not married when joining the course.
