Karumendu, Nathanael * ?, ? † . Attended evangelist course 1969/70 in Paulinum AELCRN VIII 2.16.2, Mentioned as evangelist from Gobabis who was present at the conference of evangelists in October 1971 in Okahandja.1 The Church Board of the ELK discusses a letter by the Evangelist-Vicar Nathanael Karumendu, who worked as an Evangelist after completing an Evangelist course at the Paulinum in 1970, returned to the Paulinum for a pastor course, and was now working in a congregation as a vicar.2 In its meeting of 29.01.1975, the Church Board expresses its disgust over a letter by Karumendu which the Board considers to be insulting. Two points are mentioned which gives rise to the complain of the Board: the tone in which the letter by Karumendu was written, and the unjustified recriminations, as a lot was done about the matter which Karumendu took up in his letter - seemingly the use of the congregation vehicle in Grootfontein. In the eyes of the Church Board, the "insubordination and irresponsibility"3 of the co-workers of the Church, and students in the Paulinum is especially experienced since the leadership of the Church had come into Namibian hands.
