Worked as a painter in Karasburg and as an Elder in the congregation. He helped in the congregation in the work with the youth in the town. Whenever he went out of town because of his work, his activity in the congregation was interrupted. Missionary Mayer therefor applied for a post as diacon for David Vilander during the meeting of the Suidsinodale Bestuur in Mai 1963.1 If the application was approved by the Churchboard could not be traced.
