Completed his teachers training in the Augustineum (together with Samuel Kariko and Bartholomeus Kakuritjire) during 1897 and was send as a teacher to Otjihaënena RMG1.603e:89r, Teacher in Otjihaënena under Lang and send as an evangelist to the POW for Herero and Bergdamara in Gobabis in December 1906 RMG 2.519:3r, Spiecker (visiting the Collection camp 05-07.05.1906) mentions him on the 06.05.1906 as the teacher of the school in Otjihaënena when the station was already a collection point/prisoner of war camp. "Es fehlten aber sämtliche Mittel, Schulbücher, Schiefertafeln u. dergleichen [...]" 1 Teacher in the collection camp in May 1906 under W. Diehl.2 When Wilhelm Diehl on his way to the collection camp Okomitombo, he visited the concentration camp in Gobabis, where about 40 Herero and Bergdamara were interned. Under the impression of the need there, he place Adam Dan there to "service" [bedienen] this people.3 Engel schreibt: "1907 sieht die RMG nach Okombahe und Usakos nun auch im 240 km östlich von Windhuk gelegenen Gobabis die "römische Gefahr" auftauchen; der dortige Gehilfe müßte durch einen Missionar ersetzt werden."
