Parents: Eduard (born 1915) and Sanna Kisting (neé Mugunda) (born 1921).
The father of his father was Rudolf Kisting, "voorman" on the farm Harisburg. He was born in Gibeon and died on Harisburg.
The father of his mother was Hans Mugunda, an elder. He died on the farm Harisburg.
Eduard Kisting went to school on the farm Harisburg in the 1960tees. In the church of Harisburg he was baptized and confirmed.
Eduard was the third child of 15 children (12 brothers and 3 sisters).
He continued schooling at the RMS school in Mariental and stayed with his family. The principals of that school was Wilhelm Mugunda and Dietrich Guibeb. Eduard Kisting completed his Std. 6 at that school.
1961-65 he worked on Harisburg.
1966 he went back to Mariental and taught at a school. He lead the choir and trompet players. After that he was teaching at Harisburg. All the time his father-in-law wanted him to go to Paulinum for training.
In 1970 "the decision to go to Paulinum reached me".
He went to the Paulinum in February 1971 and attended the last evangelist course held at this institution. He completed the course after two years.
He married on the 10.10.1971 in Mariental:

In 1972 his wife accompanied him to the Paulinum.

From January 1973 to 1975 he was placed as an evangelist in Khorixas. The pastor, who was in charge of him (no name given by Kisting), was stationed in Fransfontein.
Kistings salary as a evangelist without experience was R 30,- per month from the congregation and every 3 month he would receive another R90,- from Windhoek.
1975-1978 he worked in Kamanjab under pastor Hendrik Jod, who was stationed in Sesfontein. 
During this time he received R 120,- per month.
1979-1983 he worked in the Efesias congregation in Windhoek. Now he was under pastor Vries who was working in the same congregation. Kisting received now R 190,- from the congregation.
From the end of 1983 up to 1988 he was placed to Stampriet where he now received R 220,- per month.
On the 17.09.1988 he was ordained in Gibeon as a pastor, together with A. Isaak, Daniel Claasen and Joel Hanadaob. He now received ca. R 300,- per month.

1999-1996 he worked as a pastor in Dordabis.
From 1997 he is working as a pastor in Gibeon. At the beginning in Gibeon he received N$ 1900,-. In 2004 he now received - after 33 years service - N$ 2400,- per month.

Kistings says: "The evangelist was the steurbooi or donkey of the congregation leaders and others in the congregation. He was handled as if he was the employee of everybody, "[...] just as the boers did with the Africans! Some of the pastors had the evangelist do everything for him."

From the interview with Simon Petrus Tiboth it seemed, that Dean Tiboth could remember Eduard Kisting, before he, Tiboth went to Paulinum (1968) for further studies.4

During the conference of Evangelists - on the 22.03.1973 - he complained to the dagbestuur, that he had to move his belongings with the train to the new workplace. He requests the dagbestuur, if he can get the finance for a kitchen furniture set.5

"Als Text las ich in den Häusern Joh. 10 und 14 und Luk. 9,51 ff. Neu war mir das Haus der Forbes, Bruder der alten Frau Krabbenhöft, die jetzt gestorben ist. Sie war 83, Forbes ist 75 und fühlt sich schwach. Er war wohl ein treues Gemeindeglied. Willi Kisting, der Evangelist, hält jeden Sonntag in dem Haus der Frieda Plaatjie Gottesdienst für die Alten und Kranken. Was er predigt, würde ich gern mal erfahren. - Gestern ging ich mit dem Ältesten Jonas Goliath über die Nama-Werft. Fast bei allen war ich zum zweiten Mal. Ich war längst nicht mehr so fremd wie beim ersten Mal. Bei der Frau des Jakobus van der Westhuisen nahm ich Kol. 3. Sie gehört zu denen, die auf der "Eiland" waren, das heißt auf der Haifischinsel."
