Due to the urgent need in the congregations, Thomas Windstaan was send to the congregation as a Helper, together with one other Helper and four Evangelists. An exact date is not given in the Augustineum Chronic, but it must have been during 1930.He therefor left the course before the final examination and was send to Lüderitz.1 Jan Thomas Wentstaan was made elder in the Luderitz congregation in May 1931.2 Was originally from Lüderitz. Abraham Bondelswart died on 12.12.1868 in Warmbad and Willem Christian became his predecessor and reorganized the hierarchical structure of the tribe.4 This Hendrik Windstaan (sic!) participated in the peace negations on the side of the Namas with Maharero in Rehoboth on 8.6.1882. Vedder calls him "Hendrik Windstaan alias Kol vom Stamm der Groot-doden".5 Stals mentions the same Hendrik Windstaan as a translator for J. Bailie in 1848 in Warmbad.6 "Windstaan [sic!], Hendrik. Also known as Kol, or by his Nama name //Garib +Oamab. Leader of the //Ogain or Grootedoden (not before 1876).7 Jonathan Windstaan [no title or function is added behind the name] signs a letter to the Deputation in Barmen at the end of the 1880'ees, together with Capityn Willem Christiaan, Capityn Timotheus Sneuwe, Magistraat Abra [sic] Kaffer, Veldkornet David Matheus, Ouderlinge Petrus Kriel, Hans Johannes Witbooi, Abraham Schyer, Frederik Mattroos, Johannes Matheus, Eduard Sneuwe. In this letter Wandres is defended against the accusations by the RC priest Simon, who has been quoting a Warmbad person, who had said, that Wandres "is een Dienaar der ossen en skaapen".8 The ELCR Cardsystem names a Johannes Winstaan [sic], born 11.07.1948 (no place of birth mentioned). He speaks Nama and Afrikaans. He married Magdalena (no further information recorded). The following children are recorded: Enos Johannes (born 09.12.1975), Sedney [sic] Eduard (born 22.03.1978), Sam Jackie (born 02.06.1974), Isak Hans (born 15.07.1950). No other informatin recorded.9 Probably he did his theological training at Paulinum and became a pastor of ELK/ELCRN, otherwise a card would not have been created for him.
