In 1894, an elder Christian Tjihuiko (together with the teacher Traugott Tjangarero [sic]) worked amongst the members of the congregation Otjikango who were dispersed into the "Außenfeld".1
"In Otjikango (früher Neu-Barmen) mußte der früher so trefflich arbeitende Lehrer Traugot Tjangarero [sic] entlassen werden; er trinkt und hat schlimmere Sachen getrieben. Jetzt ist er von Samuel Maharero zum Unterhäuptling von Otjikango bestellt."2
