Benjamin Eiseb (Bergdamara) was admitted in the "fifth course" of the Augustineum in Okahandja on the 03.02.1936. He came from Gobabis, were he had attended the School for 6 years. He was not married when he started the course. He spoke Nama and Herero. He worked as a builder. On the 01.02.1938 he was dismissed from the Augustineum because of "[...] sittlicher Entgleisung".1
Eiseb worked to the South of Gobabis, at the White Nosob. "Leider ist Wilhelm sittlich gefallen und hat mir persönl. [sic] dies bis heute noch nicht gemeldet, trotzdem er weiss, dass [sic] ich sein Gehalt aus meines [sic] Gehalt bestritten habe."2
"Wilhelm war hier. Ich habe ihn zur Rede gestellt. Er behauptet steif und fest, daß [sic] er sich nicht vergangen habe. wollens hoffen, aber wir wissen nur zu gut, daß ein Herero immer seine Schuld leugnet und zwar so lange, bis erklar überwiesen wird, daß er dennoch der Schuldige ist. Diese Angelegenheit kann ich erst im neuen Jahr, wenn ich die Amtsreise nach dem Süden m. Distrikts antrete, reglen."3
In his interview on 3.8.2004, pastor Elifas Eiseb mentioned, that probably the retired pastor Gabriel Dawids would know more about this evangelist, because the wife of Gabriel Dawids (Frieda Eises) belongs to the same family. He is not directly related to pastor Elifas Eiseb, but - as Eiseb said: "[...] miskien baie, baie vêr langs is sy familie nog familie van my."
