Nautoro, Kornelius joined the Evangelist/Teacher course during the "second or third quarter" of 1923. He was recorded as Herero from Omaruru by Vedder.1

Came from Omaruru to the Augustineum in Okahandja in 1923 to start the first course offered by Vedder. However, already in 1924 he had to leave the course because he had a wound in his foot which had destroyed it. The wound broke up again and Nautoro did not return from one of the holidays. RMG 2.648 p. 85.

"Ja, Cornelius Nautoro ist kaum eine halbe Kraft zu nennen. Trotzdem solltest Du ihn ferner, solange es eben geht, gebrauchen, da wir so wenig Hererokräfte haben. Aber er wird immer nur als Hülfsevangelist gerechnet werden können, wenn er auch schon mal sehr danach trachtete, trotz seiner geringen Kenntnisse und Arbeitsfähigkeit die Sakramentsverwaltung zu bekommen. Participants of the course "Gemeindeschule" for 3 months in 1954 (see foto of this course in BRMG 1954:212.) Since only four teachers participated in the course "Gemeindeschule", it was extended by 15 Evangelists and helpers. The course was held by Missionary Pönnighaus and his daughter Ursula Pönnighaus as well as Rethemeyer. All participants of this course could still understand an speak German:

In his report to the 10th Ordinary Synod of the ELK in SWA in Otjimbingwe, 24.-29.09.1983, the preses informed the Synod that C. Nautoro (Omaruru) had died during the last two years since this report.3

Retired at the beginning of 1958. Received a monthly pension of £ 1.-.-.4

Was retired by 1960 in Omaruru.5
