Vedder mentions Eduard Jager who became corporal in December 1868 under Willem Christian. Abraham Bondelswart died on 12.12.1868 in Warmbad and Willem Christian became his predecessor and reorganized the hierarchical structure of the tribe.3

Spellmeyer writes about the first day of the war 02.10.1905: "Der Schulmeister Jak. Jager (Dolmetscher) war nämlich nicht da, sondern nach Rehoboth gereist. Er hatte im September zu mir bereits davon gesprochen, daß er seinen alten Vater von dort holen wolle. Jak. Jager war aber nachher, nach Aussage des Rehobother Bastards Martin Wimmer auch ein eifriger Anhänger des Stuurmann, ebenso Klein-Hendrik."8
Jakob Jager is mentioned in BRMG 1909 as a former Schoolteacher of Rietmond, who lived with Simon Kooper [sic] in the Kalahari at Sihututung and who held services for the "Simonschen Leute". "Jakob Jager "[...] soll innerlich sehr zurückgegangen sein."9
