In October 1982 Bishop Frederick suggested to Nashongo to join the Botswana mission of the ELK amongst the Herero and Bushmen, together with pastor Musutua, Ananias !Gau !gaseb and Gerson Uhihama. Nashongo worked there till April 1983, when the work in Botswana was finally handed over to the Church in Botswana.5
